Senior Structural Engineer
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a critical role in leading and managing engineering projects, ensuring that all technical aspects are delivered to the highest standard. You will take ownership of projects, producing design calculations, drawings, and specifications, while liaising directly with clients and leading external meetings. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership and communication skills who is eager to work on a diverse range of projects and drive them through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead structural engineering projects across various sectors, ensuring successful delivery from initial design through to completion
• Produce structural design calculations, detailed drawings, and technical specifications in compliance with relevant standards
• Represent the company at client and team meetings, effectively communicating technical solutions and project updates
• Collaborate with other professionals such as architects, contractors, and surveyors to ensure project success
• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining quality standards and deadlines
• Identify and resolve design challenges, providing proactive solutions throughout the project lifecycle
Key Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in structural engineering, with experience across a range of sectors including residential and commercial of varying sizes
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively, maintaining a strong focus on deadlines and quality
• Proficient in Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries, and Tedds, ideally.
• Experience reporting on Structural conditions of existing properties (Surveys)
• Strong experience in producing structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Ability to deliver projects from initial design through to successful completion
• A degree in Structural Engineering or a related field
• Chartered or working towards Chartered status (ICE or IStructE) preferred
